“S” is for Social in ESG (Environmental, Social, & Governance) standards
As a company that prioritizes responsibility, Kamau Consulting takes a deliberate approach to integrating ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standards into our interactions with clients and daily operations. Implementing ESG standards doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Small steps like going paperless by using digital forms and documents, or participating in community service activities, can make a big difference. There is no such thing as a small action when it comes to ESG.
In June of 2022, Dr. Michelle Kamau participated in the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) Global Conference at the Westin Resort in Bali, Indonesia. This conference, the largest gathering of social investors in Asia, brought together funders and resource providers from around the world to share knowledge, form strategic partnerships, and tackle socio-economic challenges on a large scale.
At the conference, AVPN introduced the Youth Opportunities Platform, which seeks to harness the power of the AVPN network by bringing together young impact leaders, funders, and resource providers to promote youth empowerment in Asia and allocate resources in various ways. Dr. Michelle Kamau participated in the Youth Opportunities Platform as an external advisor to the young impact leaders, exemplifying Kamau Consulting’s commitment to the “Social” aspect of ESG standards.
At the conference, the Kamau Consulting team learned about the Westin Resort’s “Good Travel” initiative, which gives guests the opportunity to make a positive impact in local communities while enjoying their stay. Despite time constraints, the team couldn’t take part in the program but still contributed by cleaning up a nearby beach.
